The Commissioner will present general play instructions, mandatory game play settings, and game controller directions during the tournament introduction, prior to the commencement of play. Players are responsible for understanding the game controls, following the Commissioner’s instructions.
All contestants will be guaranteed a minimum of 2 games before being eliminated from the tournament.
This is a Single Elimination Tournament. The first match of play will determine the Division grouping for all subsequent matches. The winners of the division grouping round will be placed in Division 1 and those who lose will be placed in Division II. Matches played in all divisions will be considered “Do or Die, Winner Goes On” all losses will result in elimination. The winners from division 1 and 2 will then face each other for the grand prize. The third place match will be between the runners up from each division.

-Each game must be played using two (2) different teams. If both players choose the same team, the Commissioner will flip a coin. The winner of the coin toss will get first choice of team for play. The loser of the coin toss will get first choice to decide if he/she wants to be the home or away team.
-Seeding for the tournament will be based on timing of registration.
-If a maximum capacity is reached at the venue, spectators may be asked to remain outside of the playing area until the player they are watching is playing.
-Frequent and purposeful pausing during game play may be subject to disqualification.
-The winner for the first game will be given home-court advantage.
-No sideline coaching is allowed. You may cheer or boo as the game progresses (in fact, you are encouraged to do so!), but you may not offer advice to anyone playing a game.
-If you are more than 10 minutes late to the tournament’s posted start time, you may have to forfeit the tournament. Also, if your next game is ready to be played, and you are not around, you will have 10 minutes to get back and get started, or you will forfeit that game.
-If a player purposely turns off the console while the game in progress, that player will be disqualified from the tournament. Entry into future tournaments may be denied.
-Arguing with the Commissioners about a decision may result in disqualification from the tournament.
-If any other game glitches are discovered during the tournament giving a player an unfair advantage, the tournament commissioners have the right to ban using the glitch after the point at which it is discovered.
-All players must play the Game using the above game-play settings, as designated by the Tournament Commissioner. Any deviation from these settings will result in automatic disqualification. If game settings are found to be wrong by the Tournament Commissioner, the players and the game will automatically be disqualified.
Code of Conduct
Any player competing in a manner that is not in compliance with these Official Rules may be immediately disqualified from this Tournament. Players will conduct themselves in a reasonable manner, maintaining a friendly and polite demeanor to tournament or league officials, and to other players. Players will refrain from the use of vulgar language. Abusive behavior, including harassment and threats is prohibited. Abuse, fighting, or any threatening action or language, directed at any player, spectator, official, or any other person is prohibited. Any action that interferes with play of a game, including but not limited to, purposely breaking a game station, interfering with power, intentionally disconnecting the network connectivity, and abuse of in-game pausing, is prohibited. Gambling, including betting on the outcome of games is prohibited.
Tournaments are Pot Distribution 1st 50% , 2nd 20%, and 3rd 10%, any other a grad prize will be TDB Prize total will be set by the Commissioner, who has the right to change value prior to the start of the tournament based on the number of entrants.
Registration will begin one hour prior to the scheduled start of play at the Tournament and will continue until spaces are filled. Participants who register online will get priority to register for the tournament first. Because space and time are limited, the Commissioner cannot guarantee that all entrants will be able to participate. The maximum number of entrants able to participate in the tournament is 32, but this number can expand depending how many registers online and secure a spot. In the event of a vacant spot, any walk-up participants will be eligible to register on a first come, first served basis. Walk-up participants must provide photo identification and cash entry before being able to participate.
Eligible Tournament participants will be notified of their acceptance once the online registration form is completed via email. Each participant must attend the event with photo identification and cash payment for entry into the tournament. Participant failing to provide the I.D. and/or entry fee will forfeit their spot in the tournament. Limit one Tournament entry per person.
Home team will be determined based on registration dates. Players will be seeded 1-32, with the first 16 participants receiving home team advantage. The Commissioner is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, incorrect, mutilated, or misdirected entries. The Commissioner, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or who otherwise violates these rules, or disrupts the Tournament. By entering, all entrants, registrants, contestants, Finalists, and Winners (each a “Participant” or “Participants”) accept and agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules, the decisions of the judges, and to be contacted by the Commissioner by telephone and/or mail concerning this Tournament.
The Commissioner must confirm the winner or, its designee the judge of the tournament, whose decisions are final and binding. In the event that a Participant cannot participate in competition at any level of play, for whatever reason, the Commissioner, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to select a substitute Participant (including, at Commissioner’s discretion, 2nd place or losing Participants of previous rounds), modify the Tournament structure as necessary, or reschedule Tournament play. If and when the tournament expands out the set number of player and we get an uneven number finalist, the Double Elimination Format will apply to the finals. Participants must follow the Commissioner’s directions. All decisions and rulings of the Commissioner are final and binding on all Participants. The Commissioner reserves the right to disqualify any Participant from participation in competition at any level, any time, and for any reason.
The Commissioner and its agents are not in any way responsible or liable for damages, loss, or injury resulting from participation in this Tournament by any Participant or from the acceptance, possession, shipping and handling, loss, use, or misuse of any prize awarded in this Tournament. By entering, each Participant assumes sole liability for injuries, including, without limitation, personal injuries and/or damage to property, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this Tournament, or the acceptance, possession, shipping and handling, loss, use, or misuse of any prize awarded. The Commissioner has the right to cancel, terminate, or modify this Tournament if it cannot be completed as planned due to conditions beyond the Commissioner’s control.
The Commissioner is not responsible for any failure to contact Participants, whether due to technical or human error.
By entering this Tournament, each Participant consents to the posting and use of his or her name and/or photograph on Commissioner’s website and in any and all media in connection with promotion, publicity, and advertising for the Commissioner, this Tournament or other promotions by the Commissioner without any further attribution, additional notification, or compensation. The Commissioner may film, record, and/or take photographs during the Tournament, and may use the resulting footage, recordings or photographs for a range of purposes, including, without limitation, for marketing and promoting the Commissioner and his/her products and services. By attending the Tournament, each Participant authorizes the Commissioner to film, record, and/or photograph his or her voice and likeness (“Image”), and also grants the Commissioner the irrevocable right to use any footage, recordings, or photographs of him or her recorded or taken during the Tournament, or any reproduction or modification thereof (collectively, the “Recordings”) in any manner and medium throughout the world an unlimited number of times in perpetuity for advertising, trade, promotion, exhibition, or any other lawful purpose. Participants waive moral rights, if any, Participants may have in Images and Recordings. By attending the Tournament, each Participant further waives any right of inspection or approval of the uses to which the Commissioner may put the Recordings, and releases the Commissioner from any and all claims arising out of or in connection with the Recordings, the Participant’s Image, or the Commissioner’s use thereof.

Any person winning over $600 in prizes from Gamers Are Us will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS. Gamers Are Us is not responsible for any unspecified expenses which shall be the responsibility of winners.
